Apply NowCome join a dynamic, small consulting firm shaping public transportation services at community and regional levels. This part-time position of 75+% time, with potential for full-time, is based in Riverside, CA. and presents a range of opportunities to work with clients across the Western United States. Benefits include flexible hours; full health, vision and dental; two weeks’ starting vacation plus Christmas/ New Year’s week. Work-from-home with local So Cal travel and on-site work expected; some out-of-the-region travel. Compensation based upon qualifications ($95,000 to $125,000 full-time equivalent).
1. Public Outreach and Engagement Lead
- Design public input plans re transportation needs, present to client, revise as appropriate
- Design and implement market research strategies to assess public transit rider and non-rider viewpoints
- Design and conduct qualitative public participation engagements with project stakeholders and broader community
- Design and implement quantitative public input opportunities; prepare on-line surveys and extract data
- Document input and develop written findings of transportation needs, gaps and opportunities, particularly for qualitative public comment
- Participate in framing recommendations.
2. Public Meetings and Advisory Committee Management
- Develop and conduct meetings, workshops and public hearings, including preparing agendas and contributing to meeting content
- Develop and maintain databases/ contact lists for dissemination of information
- Develop meeting promotional materials (written)
- Oversee graphics / creative work on promotional materials
- Write-up meeting input, framing themes and findings.
3. Planning Report Development and Support
- Contribute written analyses and other material; quantitative and qualitative analyses
- Manage overall compilation of quantitative transit performance data for quarterly reporting.
4. Proposal Development and Support
- Contribute to proposal preparation, both content and proposal development
- Participate in proposal interviews.
5. Website Management
- Assist with the development of project websites on selective commercial platforms
- Prepare and curate content for project websites
- Maintain AMMA’s website, interacting with web developer.
Desirable Skills and Abilities
- Community engagement experience and willingness to talk with the public
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
- Writing experience
- Familiarity with Word, Excel required; InDesign optional
- Familiarity desirable but optional with Survey Monkey, Mailchimp, PublicInput or comparable platforms
- Social media literacy desirable
- Familiarity with public transportation industry optional but desirable
- Living in SoCal/ in or near the Inland Empire required
- Spanish language capability desirable.
