The City of Yreka is seeking a Planning Manager to lead the current and long-range planning functions of the Community Development Department. This engaged leader will supervise one FTE in the Planning Department and work collaboratively to advance housing and community development goals. The ideal candidate will leverage strong project management and communication skills to provide leadership on a variety of important efforts, including:
- Developing and implementing the 2044 General Plan update;
- Advancing the 2023-2031 Housing Element goals, policies, and programs;
- Post-approval activities for the City's new Fire Station and Ringe Pool Renovation projects;
- Updating and modernizing the Zoning Code to support economic development and housing goals; and streamlining and standardizing development review and permitting processes.
The Community Development Department is a dynamic and high-functioning team of 3.0 FTEs and Building Official contractor responsible for development services, economic development, and housing programs. The Department is comprised of four divisions that work together to advance the community's vision and City Council's adopted plans and policies: Building, Economic Development, Housing Services, and Planning Services.
