The County of San Diego is currently accepting job applications for an exciting project management role as Project Manager, Public Works - CEQA (CEQA Project Manager) that will be assigned to Planning & Development Services' (PDS) Planning and Land Use.  Incumbent will lead internal CEQA services for PDS, supervising CEQA staff and consultants and acting as the department lead for the interdepartmental CEQA roundtable.  The position will play a key role in reviewing private and public discretionary projects under CEQA, providing guidance in close coordination with County legal counsel, and developing and implementing CEQA-related processes and procedures.

PDS processes hundreds of discretionary projects each year as the second largest jurisdiction in the San Diego region.  This includes a broad range of projects from housing to solar projects.  Our team is innovative and inclusive, working with departments across the enterprise and a wide array of stakeholders.  PDS embodies the County values of sustainability, equity and transparency in all that we do.  The CEQA Project Manager position will help to further sustainability through excellence in CEQA review and leading the charge in implementing best practices.  Experience as a CEQA professional is highly desirable.

Work Location:  The selected candidate may be assigned a hybrid schedule consisting of teleworking or working remotely and working at the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa.
