Jackson County is seeking a Planner II in the team-oriented Development Services department for the Current Planning division. This position will be processing planning applications, working with the general public in person and at the front counter, preparing reports and documentation, as well as making presentations as assigned. Excellent Customer Service abilities including effective communication skills and problem-solving aptitude are essential. Candidates should possess the ability to work well with the public, coworkers, Planning Commission, Hearings Officers, Board, other departments, community organizations and agencies. Ideal candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as on a team. Excellent organizations skills are vital.
- Current Planning experience preferred.
- Customer Service experience and skills preferred.
- Experience with ArcGIS preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills preferred.
- Team oriented attitude preferred.
- Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office/Windows 10 preferred.
- Transcripts must be submitted in order to meet the educational requirements of this posting.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in planning or related field, supplemented by two years of professional planning experience. A Masters degree in planning, geography or related field may be counted as one year of experience.
