Economic & Planning Systems, Inc. (EPS) is an innovative land economics consulting firm distinct in our ability to analyze and creatively resolve complex challenges related to land use policy, real estate development, and public financing. Since 1983 we have served a wide variety of private and public sector clients throughout the United States with an emphasis on forward-thinking land use planning; economic sustainability; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and urban resiliency.
EPS is seeking a qualified individual to join our Denver team with experience in land use and real estate economics, GIS and data science, urban planning, public finance, fiscal impact analysis, and demographics. EPS consultants must have the ability to work with a range of quantitative methods but also see the “big picture.” Associates have strong communication skills (written and verbal) with colleagues, clients, stakeholders, and the public. Associate Consultants have strong time management skills, are self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail, and are critical and analytical thinkers. Our business requires that we plan and execute project tasks with precision, manage our efforts to meet deadlines, and professionally represent the firm at all times.
The Associate Consultant will collaborate with EPS principals, staff, and collegial firms to complete consulting assignments through economic and financial analysis, data collection and research, stakeholder engagement, and qualitative analysis to projects related to pressing urban issues such as urban revitalization, affordable housing, equitable urban investment, transit-oriented development, and open space and conservation planning. The Associate Consultant serves as a Project Manager and primary analyst on assignments and is directly engaged in project research, data analysis, analytical interpretation, and reports and presentations.
EPS promotes a collaborative professional environment both in and out of the office and recognizes that diverse perspectives strengthen our understanding of issues and our services to our clients and their communities. We are passionate about work that results in strategies to promote great and sustainable places, and helps communities expand in an equitable and sustainable way, by planning for healthy, diverse neighborhoods, balanced economic growth, affordable housing, enhanced transit and public services, and innovative land use investments. We are committed to a healthy work-life balance and invest in our staff through on-the-job training, monthly “lunch-and-learns,” and staff retreats and social events, with the goal of developing well rounded consultants experienced in the full range of services offered by the firm.
