In this position you will:
Administer government plans and policies affecting land use. Research and analyze data from GIS mapping projects, market research, censuses and various studies to write proposals and make recommendations to Town leadership for effective land use planning.
Process public hearing requests, meet with applicants, research and prepare written correspondence related to hearing items and presentation of materials.
Provide exceptional customer service to developers and persons with individual land use questions such as code requirements, development proposals, Town growth and expansion, demographics and procedures for the property owner to pursue public hearings.
Assist in other related planning projects such as grant administration, census coordination, preparing and communicating public education information, processing annexations, and performing other profession duties on behalf of the CD Deputy Director as assigned.
Need to have/be:
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Development, Landscape Architecture, or closely related area and two years municipal planning experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Strong technical skills in land use planning, related computer software and databases, ability to read, write and interrupt complex technical reports and plan documents.
Creative, innovated and forward thinking; a person who is collaborative by nature with a good sense of humor, passionate to provide exceptional service to a diverse customer base who may have a wide range of understanding on land use policies, procedures and protocols.
