The Planning Manager will lead the Planning Division and Code Enforcement Division in guiding private development and enforcement of City codes, with major focus areas including the implementation and administration of land use and development policies and regulations, assisting the community with land use questions and procedures, and conducting development-related environmental review.

Community Development Department
The Community Development Department includes five Divisions (Planning, Building, Code Enforcement, Economic Development and Housing). The Department provides community planning, development review and inspection services for the residents of Napa and the development community, and facilitates the permitting process in a manner that is consistent with City, State and federal standards. The Department also administers and maintains the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance, and prepares studies and documentation to address future planning needs.
The Planning Manager will lead the Planning Division and Code Enforcement Division in guiding private development and enforcement of City codes in accordance with State law and the City's adopted development programs. This role will offer growth for the new Planning Manager as our exciting and complex projects will provide tremendous opportunities for learning and career development. This position reports to the Community Development Director and manages a staff of 10 employees, with a budget of $1.4M. Major focus areas include the implementation and administration of land use and development policies and regulations; assisting residents, developers, and real estate professionals with land use questions and procedures; and conducting development-related environmental review.
