Our Phoenix office offers a unique work environment and specializes in Planning, Biological and Cultural Resources.

You will possess a strong skillset in project management and natural resource consulting and, particularly environmental planning and NEPA compliance.


  • Serve as project manager or deputy project manager for a variety of resource management and conservation planning projects, as well as preparation of NEPA, County permitting, and State permitting documents.
  • Manage projects including budgets, technical staff, and reports related to NEPA compliance documents, particularly Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, Certificates of Environmental Compatibility, Plan Amendments, and special use permitting, with secondary expertise in natural resource disciplines relevant in Arizona.
  • Contribute to expanding SWCA's professional reputation in natural resource consulting and research.
  • Assist in the writing and development of complex natural resources planning and management documents
  • Manage diverse environmental and/or NEPA projects, including generation, alternative energy, transmission, and transportation-related projects.


  • Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, biology, or a related field
  • Five to 10 years of experience preparing and managing projects and NEPA documents required (or similar levels of experience in report completion, as well as scheduling and budgeting of projects)
  • Demonstrated experience managing large NEPA and planning projects with excellent developer and agency references.
  • Experience working with federal NEPA protocols and requirements, preferably including for Arizona Corporation Commission, Bureau of Indian Affairs and Bureau of Land Management
  • Experience working with agencies directly as well as project applicants and proponents with NEPA documentation guidance and review.
  • Experience working with generation or transmission Project Managers.
  • Experience in marketing and proposal writing
