Graffito SP (GSP) is a Boston-based real estate development and urban design firm focused on ground floor leasing and activation projects. Our approach embraces a local-first mentality that is steeped in the context of the places and spaces we work. The GSP team is made up of professionals with diverse skill sets working across various disciplines.  We are currently seeking an experienced urban designer to join our Leather District office and lead our burgeoning urban design practice. 

This position will work closely with Jesse, our Founder & President, and Gustavo, our Director of Neighborhood Strategy & Development. 


Desired Skills & Experience:

Applicants must be comfortable working in a highly entrepreneurial environment and

should have a degree in urban design, urban planning or architecture, in additional to the following:

  • 10+ year’s experience in urban design and/or urban planning, specifically in dense urban markets
  • Experience working on and leading multidisciplinary project teams
  • Experience developing and communicating (verbally and graphically) concepts and designs for streetscapes, plazas, active mobility plans, and other aspects of the public realm
  • Ability to grasp and define big picture master planning principles while also possessing the discipline to step-back and draft detailed project briefs and issue specific client deliverables
  • Experience with permitting and community engagement efforts in one or more Greater Boston-area municipalities
  • A strong understanding of how the public realm and private realm (retail, lobbies, storefronts, sidewalks, open spaces, etc.) “talk to each other” in dense urban developments
  • A strong ability to craft a story and narrative about a place
  • Strong skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD. Additional skills in Rhino and Revit are welcome but not necessary
  • Very strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • A commitment to urban design and real estate practices that prioritize social equity, environmental sustainability, and localism
