Assists with the planning, assessment, and coordination of school facilities planning to support the development of the Capital Improvement Program, school district boundary studies, school facilities planning studies, and school membership projections; collects, compiles, and analyzes data relating to land use, general and student population, housing, economic, and social trends for use in school facilities planning; conducts field surveys of housing development and construction.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree with coursework in planning, research methods, data analysis, geographic information systems (GIS), or related field, plus five years progressive experience with emphasis on analysis based experienced in planning/GIS. A master's degree in planning or related field is preferred and may be substituted for one year of required experience. Experience in school division planning is preferred. Knowledge of planning and educational division facilities planning; experience working with, developing, and maintaining GIS maps and datasets; ability to compile and analyze social, economic, and demographic data using GIS, spreadsheet and database applications, and basic office software. Ability to clearly present information orally, graphically, and in writing. Ability and experience working with elected officials, citizens, and citizen/community groups.
