Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco finished 1,2,3 in the category of Best Coffee City in America.
Katrina Brown Hunt, of Travel + Leisure, noted that several of the top 20 results were towns "with great historic districts that still offer a unique café culture."
Other categories in the survey included: smartest locals, environmentally aware, and friendliest.
