Kimber Gabryszak is a county planner in Utah. She's also a competitor in the sledding sport of 'skeleton', and could be taking her first steps towards competing in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
But competing means putting planning aside, at least for a bit.
"Going downhill at crazy speeds has been in her DNA for years; the obsession with racing down mountains on her bike struck Gabryszak long before she considered racing down mountains on a sled. But there's a different side to her story, mainly in that she's a career woman who'll put her life on hold and watch her bank balance fall at roughly the same speed she'll be going down the track.
Skeleton isn't a get-rich sport. To compete, she'll essentially go from full-time employee to someone who'll check in by e-mail whenever she's got a spare few minutes."
