In the Bronx, Brooklyn, and even the Upper East Side, rooftop farming is making inroads. The City Greens profiles a handful of these urban pioneers.
Suyeon Kim profiles Blue Sea Development, a hydroponic farm on a rooftop in the South Bronx; Brooklyn Grange, a soil farm in Brooklyn (obviously); and a new startup in Jamaica called Gotham Greens.
