Houston Rodeo is actually hurting some businesses around Reliant Center.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo draws tens of thousands of visitors to the Reliant Arena area, but local business in strip malls actually see decreased business because the heavy traffic chokes off regular customers.

A local business person says that "lots of people park down the street and have to pass his business, he says few of them ever make it inside. And since they block off the street in front of the strip mall, his regular customers often stay home during rodeo time."
