Obama Administration Snubs Mayors

Representatives of the Obama Administration, including VP Biden, were set to be a part of the U.S. Conference of Mayors last week, but they cancelled their appearance so as not to cross a union picket line outside.

Neal Pierce says that the Obama Administration's policy of barring its officials from crossing union picket lines is a dangerous precedent. Mayors he spoke with were very disappointed.

"'We're shocked,' said Thomas Cochran, Executive Director of the mayors association: 'Every time you go to one of these meetings, somebody is out in front protesting about this or that We had high hopes for this administration. "The administration has clearly offended the mayors, among its top allies and potential collaborators."
