Height Ordinance: A Broader Issue
17 June 2009 - 6:00am
South Walton is considering pass a height ordinance to limit the buildings to 50 feet.
For the first time, South Walton is considering adopting a countywide height ordinance, which will limit the buildings to a height of 50 feet. Only cell phone towers, wind or solar structures and church steeples and spires could exceed the 50-foot limit.
"The height ordinance is part of a broader issue that the board also tackled at Tuesday's meeting, when members conceptually approved the new categories contained in the proposed Future Land Use Element (FLUE) of the county's comprehensive plan."
