Man Recieves First 'Mississippi Cottage'
David Biggs, a lifelong resident of Moss Point, Mississippi, is overjoyed with his new modular cottage, a marked improvement over FEMA trailers.
" A lifelong resident here is the first person in Jackson County to receive the keys to a new modular home through the state's Alternative Housing Pilot Program.
'I just can't explain how much I appreciate it,' David Biggs said Thursday while standing inside his 400-square-foot Mississippi Cottage at 3617 Rollins Ave.
Keith Johnson, housing advisor director with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, said two other modular homes have been permitted for Moss Point and work continues to find qualified residents.
'We continue to go through the process of screening applicants and seeing if they have a need for temporary housing for six months or longer,' Johnson said."
