Public Architecture calculates that one percent of the standard 2,080-hour work year would total 20 pro bono hours per annum.
Architects, engineers and other design professional are providing a public service to non-profits. Not only do they get the satisfaction of doing good, but pro bono work fosters business relationships and assists in business development.
