The New Look Of Security Design

New building security features are a must in the post-9/11 world, but designers feel there's still a need to make them aesthetically pleasing.
"[Some designers] argue that buildings and plazas can be made more attractive, more functional and more inviting to the public even as safeguards are added...
The drive to combine beauty and security can be seen in plans for a face-lift for Atlanta's Richard B. Russell Federal Building, a $4 million project expected to be completed in 2007 at the earliest, and efforts to protect the Washington Monument."
