A New Look For San Antonio's 'Undiscovered' South Side

A new San Antonio land use plan aims to balance development between north and south.
A new initiative to create higher density, pedestrian friendly residential and commercial areas on San Antonio's South side has met with early enthusiasm from residents. Next stop: City Council. "'I'm really encouraged by the fact that there's planning going into this before there's an explosion of growth," said Willie Orrelas, who lives just north of the initiative area. 'I've been a resident of the South Side since the '70s, but I've felt like it just hasn't been discovered.'"
