Full-time lecturer position in the City and Regional Planning Department, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, for the 2017-2018 AY with possibility of renewal for one additional year. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a teaching position requiring 3-4 courses per quarter. The assignment includes laboratory (studio) and lecture courses in city and regional planning at the undergraduate, and possibly graduate, level.

Areas of instruction include practice, theory and methods of: community planning and development, land use planning, plan-making, plan implementation, and associated digital technologies needed in these areas. Candidates should have experience in planning and be able to teach community-based studios. Ability to offer courses in a second planning area such as introduction to city planning, technology and planning, policy analysis, and professional practice desired. Experience working collaboratively across disciplines is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:
One academic degree in urban planning; a Master's degree in urban planning or a related field; and three years of professional and/or teaching experience in the field of planning, including supervision of project work. Academic focus must be in the area of city and regional planning. Candidates shall demonstrate high competence in community-based planning and excellent communication skills.
