(This is a benefits eligible exempt position.)
The Planner participates in the City’s planning operations and development review; assists in the development of the Comprehensive Plan update; performs research for the Community Development Department; provides staff support for the Planning Commission; participates in the preparation and presentation of reports, and assists in the completion of assigned planning projects.
Education and/or Experience
Must have a Bachelor Degree in a related field (i.e. planning, landscape architecture, architecture). Master's degree preferred. A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in urban planning, four (4) years of experience preferred. A Master’s Degree in Urban Planning or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience. Proficiency in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, Community Viz and SketchUp preferred. Completion of NIMS requirement within the one year of hire. Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per the City’s drivers Use of Vehicles for City Business policy throughout employment with the City.
