Architecture at Woolpert is experiencing tremendous growth and adding a Project Architect / Team Leader for our Charlotte, NC Architecture Team. Candidate will ideally have expertise in both design-bid-build and design-build projects, and in one or more markets of the following markets- educational buildings, athletic facilities, private/commercial and/or multi-family mixed-use developments. Strong organizational skills along with written/verbal communication skills and the ability to work easily with clients, team members, consultants and other Woolpert Design staff are also essential.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience or equivalent work experience. Must have a current architectural registration.

The right candidate for this position will have both strong technical and leadership skills, and be ready to lead building projects as well as a talented team of people. Woolpert Team Leaders work directly with the Architecture Discipline Leader for the firm and collaborate extensively with other Team Leaders in locations such as St. Louis, Indianapolis, Dayton/Cincinnati, and Atlanta.

A Team Leader’s responsibilities fall into two categories, the first of which is technical. Therefore, candidates must be proficient using AutoCad &/or Architectural Revit and be able to not only produce quality construction documents him/herself, but also guide other production staff in the preparation of such.

The second category is more managerial, assisting with business development proposals, recruiting and managing staff, overseeing execution of design services as well as ensuring quality control procedures are followed.

Candidate should be well versed in facilitating interdisciplinary coordination, developing professional communications and delivering presentations.  Strong organizational skills along with written/verbal communication skills and the ability to work easily with clients, team members, consultants and other Woolpert Design staff are also essential.
