Principal Planner (ODOT18-1834ocA)
Are you a talented planner interested in improving the livability and economic well-being of the Portland metropolitan region and the state of Oregon? Come join our team as a principal planner at our downtown Portland office. In this role you will lead complex multimodal and highway transportation projects. You will manage major and controversial projects through the planning, environmental (NEPA), and preliminary design phases to ensure project-ready hand over for implementation. You also will provide policy and project management guidance on topics including project development, regional funding measures, innovative financing measures, operational strategies, and freight issues.
A bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field
Four (4) years of planning experience related to the job.
Note: A master's degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Eight (8) years of planning experience related to the job.
NOTE: Course work in Urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Geography or a related field can substitute for up to two (2) year of the progressively responsible experience.
