Senior Planner/Assistant to the City Manager
The City of Calistoga has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Planner/Assistant to the City Manager in the Planning and Building Department. This individual administers current and advance planning activities, including serving as project manager for complex development applications and special projects; prepares and oversees the preparation of environmental review documents; provides information and assistance to property owners, developers, contractors and the public; provides professional advice to the Planning and Building Director, City Council, Planning Commission, and others; reviews a variety of studies and policy documents; prepares and presents staff reports and other public presentations; and performs related work as required.
This individual also performs a variety of administrative and analytical tasks for the City Manager, which may include conducting studies of City policies and procedures, program services, city organization structure and community issues; administering a specific program area; assisting in negotiations with the City’s employee associations and related work.
- Five years of professional experience in planning, zoning and related community development activities.
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in urban planning, community development, business or public administration, architecture or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
Licenses or Certificates:
- Possession of a valid California class C driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance.
