Performs professional-level work to support the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA) Program Development Team.  This position leads in the preparation of major TPA programs, projects and plans such as: 

The Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), travel demand modeling, freight logistics, major project prioritization and project reviews.  Processes all amendments to the LRTP and develops necessary backup materials; serves as staff liaison to the TPA's Technical Advisory Committee; prepares and presents agenda items for monthly board meetings and advisory committee meetings as required; coordinates with partner agencies and other MPOs for the development of the Southeast Florida Regional Transportation Plan (RTP); performs project reviews for multimodal infrastructure and environmental impacts to support TPA objectives and meet other state and federal requirements; collaborates with outside consultants, professional planners, technical specialists and support personnel participating in assigned program/system activities and oversees work orders as assigned; provides the general public and other agencies with transportation planning-related information and technical assistance; participates in partner agency committees; assists in data collection and analysis as required.  Work is reviewed by a supervisor through consultations and review of completed work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Urban/Regional Planning or closely related field; minimum of three (3) years of professional planning experience.  Equivalency: Related Master’s Degree and two (2) years of professional planning experience.

PREFERENCE FOR: LRTP and travel demand modeling.  Also desirable:  Three (3) years of experience with an MPO(must specify on application).
