Annual salary is $48,850
The city of Apache Junction is seeking to fill a Planner position which is an exempt position to assist the city with both current planning and zoning activities as well as long range planning. The city is currently working on an Active Transportation Plan and will be updating its General Plan over the next two years. The person in this position will gain valuable experience in a variety of planning related projects.

This is a professional planning position. The incumbent performs professional-level planning work; applies professional knowledge and skills to various municipal planning problems and projects; provides information and assistance to developers and the public on planning-related matters.

The results of this recruitment may be used to fill one (1) vacancy in the Development Services Department and other vacancies that may occur during the life of the eligible list.
Part-time or volunteer equivalent experience is as follows:
0-9 hours per week = no credit
10-19 hours per week = ¼ (one-quarter) of full time work
20-29 hours per week = ½ (one-half) of full-time work
30 hours or more per week = full time work
Graduation from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban, Regional Planning or a closely related field and two (2) years full time or it’s part time equivalent experience as a Planning Intern, Technician, Assistant, or Specialist.
