Lecturer Pool - Urban and Regional Planning
The Department of Urban Planning and Public Policy in the School of Social Ecology invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses in the Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the program and may begin as early as Fall 2018.
We are interested in applicants who can teach practice- and skills-oriented courses in a range of planning topics, including but not limited to the following areas of urban and regional planning: community organizing and engagement, public finance, and demographic analysis.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties could include preparing course materials (syllabus, assignments, etc.), maintaining a course website, holding office hours, assigning grades, and advising students.
Applicants should have an advanced degree (minimally a Master’s degree or equivalent degree) and/or relevant practice experience in a field appropriate to the course (e.g., Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, Public Policy, or Landscape Architecture). Professional certification (AICP, LEED, etc.) and experience of teaching practice-oriented planning courses are preferred but not required.
