SEMCOG currently has an opening in its Plan Implementation Department for an environmental planner/engineer. Knowledge of air quality, solid waste, and water resources planning, including stormwater, watershed management, and habitat preservation/restoration is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, Environmental Policy, Natural Resources, or related field. The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact and work with a range of external stakeholders such as federal, state, county, and local agencies. The candidate must also be able to collaborate with internal staff. Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems is preferred.
Candidate must be able to work in an open, team environment, have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, and be able to adapt to and quickly learn new systems.
