Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator
The City of Newport News is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and career-minded individual to join the Department of Planning’s Comprehensive Planning Division as the Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator to help transform distressed neighborhoods. This position will require comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of neighborhood planning and development, experience with neighborhood engagement and capacity building, and experience serving as an advocate, resource and liaison between residents and local government. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Urban Studies, Community Development, Social Work, Cultural Anthropology, or a related field and 3-5 years of experience in community planning or neighborhood revitalization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred. Salary range: $52,903.20 - $91,145.99.
