Planning Division Chief
DESCRIPTION: Under direction plans, organizes, directs and manages the daily operations of a Planning Division of the Department of Planning and Community Development Services; provides leadership and guidance to a Planning Division and assists the Director in establishing departmental and countywide programs, procedures and services; and to do related work as required. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Planning Division Chief classification is charged with the responsibility for major departmental operations within the Planning & Community Development Services Department. This classification reports to the Director and may substitute in the absence of the Director. Incumbents plan, direct and manage the day-to-day operations of a division, work independently, use good sound judgment and discretion in handling the most complex, varied and specialized administrative and planning and community development programs.
