MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) is seeking an Outreach Coordinator (as a contract-staffed position) to support the environmental review process for the development of a bus rapid transit system on the North Shore of Staten Island. The Outreach Coordinator will be part of a dedicated team working from the NYCT offices (downtown Manhattan) to coordinate agency and public stakeholder activities. This 15 to 18-month, full-time position requires a flexible, creative thinker with excellent communication skills, who can effectively coordinate public events and manage team activities. Must be a motivated, self-starter who takes initiative. Role supports NYCT outreach lead, working directly with the NYCT project management team and public outreach specialists. Responsibilities will include copywriting and editing, contacts database development and maintenance, public meeting/event logistics, recording meeting minutes, and other project-related administrative support. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with NYCT and see through the execution of an environmental impact statement on a city, state and federal level for a major transportation infrastructure project. Permanent employment opportunities following the contract term are available with the outreach placement firm.
Position starts at $30/per hour and is commensurate with experience. This full-time contract position offers competitive benefits and vacation time.
