The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is the transportation planning, financing and coordinating agency for the nine‐county San Francisco Bay Area.

The person in this position will be responsible for a range of tasks that support the long-range planning and policy efforts of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG). The Junior Planner will work on tasks associated with the Resilience Program and the development of Plan Bay Area -- the Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS) for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area.

The ideal candidate must have the skills and abilities to perform technical data analysis and synthesize findings into resources for local and regional planning and policy documents; present qualitative and quantitative findings utilizing oral, written, and graphic communication skills; exhibit excellent interpersonal skills; and work in a project and team environment. The ability to code in python and/or R is not required but it is a plus.

Experience: No professional working experience is required for this level.
Education:  Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field such as transportation planning, city and regional planning, transportation or civil engineering.
