SENIOR PLANNER

The City of Newport News is seeking a Senior Planner for the Department of Planning - Comprehensive Planning Division, which focuses on long-range planning, special studies, and requires excellent communication skills.  

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a closely related field and 3-5 years of experience in professional planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree and experience in comprehensive, transportation and/or neighborhood planning is preferred.  AICP is desirable.  

Anticipated hiring range: $50,384 - $89,799.
