Responsibilities: Conducting assigned work tasks in the Unified Planning Work Program; attending and participating in committee meetings of the York Area Metropolitan Planning Organization; managing consultant contracts for the re-timing of traffic signals and candidate investment projects; and assisting in the review of subdivision and land development plans with regards to access, safety and congestion; assisting in implementation of traffic engineering and transportation planning projects; coordination of transportation planning efforts with Federal, State, and local agencies; and other duties as assigned.

The Transportation Planner reports to the Chief of the Transportation Planning Division. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Transportation Engineering, or in a related field or the equivalent in work experience. The position requires computer literacy, attention to detail, and good oral and written communication skills. The following are all a plus: Local knowledge of York County; Knowledge of State and Local Government; AICP certification preferred.
