Miami 21 is the first city wide form based code replacing the city's Euclidean form based code. The plan provides predictability of future development supported by the specific guidelines and regulations of the form based zoning code. The result of over 500 meeting, charrettes, and workshops. The new code encourages mixes of commercial and residential uses along major corridors, seeks to reduce the impact of large-scale development, and requires new buildings to conceal parking while meeting the sidewalk with active fronts like shops, offices and homes.

Sanibel Plan identified nine major ecological zones to help planners designate appropriate land uses, intensity, and performance standards. The "Sanibel Report" explained how a comprehensive land-use plan could be formulated based on the island's carrying capacity and natural systems. The plan has allowed Sanibel to grow without exceeding its carrying capacity and led to one of Florida’s pioneer growth management regulations.

The city in partnership with Traditional Neighborhoods Inc., a not-for-profit organization of developers, initiated a charrette providing the vision for the revitalization plan of Hannibal Square. The plan suggested a number of community improvements designed to rebuild infrastructure, increase affordable housing, and encourage new mixed use development. In a tribute to the area's history the city planned for a Heritage Center, which would focus on the contributions of Winter Park's African American residents.
