Anthems In The Architecture

World Trade Center design needs the human touch.
New Yorkers said they wanted to honor September 11 and the city's vibrancy with human scale, human interaction, humanity more than architectural statements. They wanted a return to streets, the capillaries though which the real lifeblood of a city flows. They wanted designs that nurture vibrant urban life. In short, they wanted Smart Growth. Do Daniel Libeskind's crystal skyscrapers achieve that? They might.
