The Seattle suburb of Kenmore adopts a plan to reshape the city's downtown and also adopts new zoning to encourage denser mixed-use development.
"Despite organized opposition, the City Council unanimously passed a plan to reshape the city's downtown, aiming to transform the Seattle suburb's parking lots and strip malls into a denser, pedestrian-friendly urban village and beautify a cityscape currently dominated by asphalt."
