A GPS-enabled handheld device running new Mapopolis software can track your location and warn you of slow traffic conditions ahead.
"With a wireless Internet connection, the software will keep track of the latest traffic information for an area you specify and will be dynamically updated as you go. If there's an accident that slows traffic down, you'll get information almost as quickly as the drivers affected start hitting their brakes to slow down. With a GPS add-on, it can also display your position relative to any congestion--and the software can help you route around it."
