Competing For Minneapolis' Largest Housing Site
1 April 2003 - 12:00pm
The right to build the largest number of owner-occupied homes in Minneapolis in recent history is up for grabs.
"They aim to construct at least 360 housing units ranging from single-family houses and duplexes to condos and townhouses. That makes the project the largest ownership project in the city in years. The development also includes 440 rental units, with 85 finished, 51 of those occupied and another 67 with leases signed... Almost three-quarters of the ownership housing will have market-rate prices, and a prime goal of Cherryhomes as a council member was to to increase ownership and buying power to support neighborhood stores."

It's all too easy for projects to claim that they will be successful places, and all too hard to tell ahead of time which ones actually will.
