Beachfront Threatened With Overdevelopment

Broward County officials are concerned about the overdevelopment along the county's 23-mile shoreline.
"Control over such projects has long rested with the cities, but county elected officials fear the beach is threatened with overdevelopment because no one is looking at the big picture. They fear a seaside of tall buildings and congested roadways could harm the tourism-based economy and damage the quality of life for people already living on the barrier island."
