Mall Takeover Tug-of-War Continues

The country's largest shopping center operator has lined up another ally to control public shareholders of the Bloomfield Hills mall developer.
"Taubman Centers says the Simon Property Group of Indianapolis still lacks the voting shares it needs to buy the chain of 30 malls... Taubman owns or manages 30 malls in 13 states, among them Twelve Oaks in Novi, the Mall at Short Hills, N.J., and the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. The company was founded in 1950 by A. Alfred Taubman."
