Southern California Rates Traffic Worst Regional Problem

Could Southern California's love affair with the auto be fading? More people say they want their tax dollars spent on public transit.
"Spending money on Metrolink was the top item on the transportation budget wish list for 32.1 percent of the members of a Los Angeles County focus group -- double the 15 percent who wanted to spend money on freeway improvements... increased air pollution and water pollution trailed traffic by just a few percentage points... The survey was commissioned by Southern California Compass , a two-year program that will use the results as it tackles issues of future growth in the region."
