Celebration Frays Around The Edges

4 February 2003 - 8:00am

Who would have thought that rot on the trim of Celebration houses would result in a feature length expose in the Orlando Sentinel...

"As many as 500 of the 700 homes the company has built in this tony, immaculately landscaped development may have bad trim. Some of the homes are worth $500,000 or more... The cause of the problem was surprising to owners of the Weekley-built houses, all of them frame structures replete with traditional architectural details. The faulty trim -- though painted and designed to look like wood -- actually is a fiberboard many associate with far-cheaper houses."
