'Totally Committed' To Smart Growth
27 January 2003 - 9:00am
Michican state senate majority leader says Michican Republican leaders are "totally committed" to the Smart Growth Commission.
Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm and the Republican leaders of the state House and Senate have agreed to appoint 20 members to a bipartisan Smart Growth Commission. Half will be Democrats and the other half Republicans, according to State Senator Ken Sikkema, the Republican majority leader. The commission's members and its mission will be made public before Ms. Granholm's state of the state speech on February 5, and perhaps as early as this week.
