Transportation Plan Focuses On People, Not Cars

A new comprehensive transportation plan for Tempe, AZ, focusses on moving people, not cars.
"The intent here is to try to make up for prior planning which emphasized the automobile and ignored other issues," Mary O'Connor, deputy public works manager, told zoning commissioners this week. 'This time we are looking at alternatives to road widening.'"
