Preservation magazine editors selected the year's top events in historic preservation.
"Preservation magazine's editors took stock of the year and selected 10 events, trends, and losses that made news in 2002." Duke Ellington's old haunt was demolished this year, but Edith Wharton's 1902 mansion was restored.
