Twin Cities Approves Blueprint 2030
22 December 2002 - 7:00am
The Metropolitan Council has adopted a new 30-year plan for metro-area growth, despite objections from the Governor-elect. [Link corrected.]
"The plan seeks to save farmland and natural resources by concentrating new development in higher-density population centers linked by transportation corridors, including light rail, commuter rail and busways. It's intended to stop the metro area from creeping outward in all directions and in some cases leapfrogging to small towns on the periphery." [ Link corrected - Thanks to Farley Peters. ]
