Utah Embraces Commuter Rail

Utah's Transit Authority launches a five-year plan to build commuter rail between northern Utah and Salt Lake City.
"The system, now undergoing an environmental review expected to end sometime during 2004, would follow Union Pacific's main freight line andcould cost as much as $450 million... Early Utah Department of Transportation studies estimated that transit, including commuter rail, could handle up to 12 percent of the traffic along the Davis County corridor."
