Urban Car Sharing Could Work

Urban residents are increasingly using "car sharing" companies to reserve cars for a few hours at a time during the day.
"When she needs wheels, Birnbaum goes online, finds the Zipcar parked closest to her, and makes a reservation, often as little as an hour in advance. She finds the car and waves her credit card-size "Zipcard" over an electronic device on the windshield; the door locks pop, the ignition is enabled, and off she goes - no waiting, no clerks, no paperwork.... The cost in New York: $10 an hour and 40 cents a mile."
